The episode with Tommy suggests that, although hypermedia is able to make one memories things easily in their sleep, he/she would not be able to apply it to their learning hey are unable to think of it in a rational way, or find a connection between what they memorized, and the knowledge and information given in what they memorized. Thus, intellectual education is not something that can be learnt through hypermedia, as it requires knowledge and rational thinking, however, moral education can be taught through hypermedia, as it does not require rationality, and it benefits the World State it gives them the power to control everybody in society, making them think and believe what they want them to.Having a ‘lesson’ repeated fifty times in one night might make a hill recite it in the morning, hearing it a few more hundred times would make him know it by heart, however, making him hear it fifty times a day for three times a week for thirty months would make it the child’s lifestyle! By then, the lesson would be so completely embedded in the child’s mind that he/she would live by those beliefs, never thinking of questioning it, “Till at last the child’s mind is these suggestions, and the sum of these suggestions is the child’s mind”.It would become the child’s instinctive response to any problems or to things happening in their daily lives.

This is because moral education is ‘irrational’ and would not need much thinking to follow it.It is also something that is needed in this community whose motto and beliefs are of stability, and the smooth flow of society. “You can’t learn a science unless you know what it’s all about,” thus hypermedia is not used on intellectual education in this community, but is instead, used on moral education. In Brave New World, it is also described as ‘sleep-teaching, and is focused on drilling moral aloes into the children’s minds.
